Follow Up: Iraq at the Tipping Point

I'm flattered. Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, powerful leader of the Shiite Supreme Council for Islamic Revolution, obviously read my post yesterday on Iraq being at the tipping point because of lying sack of sh*t politicians like himself.

Well, the likelihood that al-Hakim would know Kiko's House from the International House of Pancakes is zero, but he is playing true to form in telling people who care deeply about Iraq's future to, in so many words, go fornicate themselves.

Al-Hakim had pledged prior to last October's constitutional referendum that Iraq's new constitution would be opened to amendments by a newly elected parliament, a key ingredient in the document on which a real coalition government could be formed. Only then, I and many others believe, can the long process of binding Iraq together begin, as well as an accelerated withdrawal of U.S. troops.

Well, al-Hakim has not only reneged on his pledge, he now says no changes should be make to the constitution. And, by the way, there's gonna be substantial autonomy for Shiites in the oil-rich southeast, so screw the notion of a "real" coalition government.
