House GOP: Still Not Getting the Message

If House Republicans think their problems ended when Tom DeLay took a powder over the weekend and decided to not try to regain his leadership post, they should think again.

Reps. Roy Blunt of Missouri and John Boehner of Ohio, two of the leading candidates to replace DeLay as House Majority leader, are just about as mobbed up as was DeLay, according to a Bloomberg.com story.

Meanwhile, George Will came down hard on the whole sorry bunch in today’s Washington Post. An excerpt:

Before evolution produced creatures of our perfection, there was a three-ton dinosaur, the stegosaurus, so neurologically sluggish that when its tail was injured, significant time elapsed before news of the trauma meandered up its long spine to its walnut-size brain. This primitive beast, not the dignified elephant, should be the symbol of House Republicans.
