Another Blow for Women's Rights in Afghanistan

Suspected Taliban gunmen have killed Safia Amajan, a senior Afghan official specializing in women’s rights in the most recent assassination of a women's rights official in the war-torn country.

Amajan, 65, a former teacher and high school principal, was chief of the women’s affairs department in Kandahar Province for five years and worked for women’s rights and education and vocational training.
